Large family gatherings always hit the same obstacle: nobody has the space or the appetite to host thirty people. So the idea is dropped, or the host enjoys none of it. La Marina hosts family meals for 10 to 60 guests in Agde, indoors and on the riverside terrace.
The menu is chosen in advance to avoid twenty different orders, children have their own table and menu, and the meal can last as long as the conversation. It is often the first time in years that everyone is genuinely seated at the same time.
Up to around thirty guests a single long table still works and gives a real sense of occasion. Beyond that, two or three linked tables are better: conversation actually circulates, which never happens across a table of fifty. We discuss it based on your family.
A children's menu for the youngest, adapted portions for older relatives, heartier plates for everyone else: a good family meal accounts for all three. Flag diets and particular difficulties when booking, including textures for elderly guests.
Many family meals have no official reason: cousins passing through in summer, someone back from abroad, grandparents visiting. Those are often the best ones. You do not need a birthday or a ceremony to book a long table, just a phone call.
